OUR
CULTURE

PEOPLE & CULTURE

At Trillium Family Services, People and Culture is about how we do our work together. It shows up in how we listen, how we communicate, and how we make decisions with clarity and consistency. We strive to create spaces where all people feel respected, supported, and able to fully participate. By centering trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility, we build a culture where both our staff and the communities we serve can thrive.

TRAUMA-INFORMED
CARE PHILOSOPHY

Trauma-informed care is a framework and philosophy that guides the way we interact with one another as individuals, team members, and with our community. We practice asking what has happened to you, rather than what is "wrong" with you.
The PRESENCE Model provides everyone at Trillium Family Services with basic knowledge about trauma, adversity, and stress and advances the emergence of trauma-informed values, knowledge, practice, and skills.

HOW GEMS SHOWS UP

Recruitment: We look for people who align with our values and want to grow with us

Workplace Culture: We recognize and reinforce behaviors that reflect our shared values

Retention & Growth: We create opportunities for connection, development, and meaningful work

GEMS ensures that our trauma-informed philosophy is not just understood—but experienced—by our staff, the children and families we serve, and our community.
