What is your role and primary responsibility within the organization?
As Senior Director of Health Information Management, I oversee the teams who support Quality and Compliance activities through chart review, ethical coding of services, and appropriate and timely release of medical records. We are partners with providers in the quality, completeness and timeliness of the clinical records.
As Privacy Officer for TFS I am responsible for the policy, training and compliance with all HIPAA Privacy rules and other related regulations around client privacy while ensuring that our processes do not inappropriately block appropriate sharing of client treatment information with client, guardians and other approved providers.
What is a passion or hobby outside of work that brings you joy?
Reading biographies and novels set in different areas of our world. I’m also up for any activities or adventures with my grandchildren.
What motivated you to pursue a career in mental health?
Originally, I was pleased to find work with a local, non-profit organization with a mission helping children and families. As I have worked here over the years, I have learned so much about the nuance, integration, and impact of each of our own mental health in every aspect of ours’ and others’ lives – it is hard to imagine wanting to work in any other health care field.
