Employee Satisfaction Survey

As part of its efforts toward continuous performance improvement, Trillium Family Services conducts an employee satisfaction survey periodically.  The results of the anonymous survey are reviewed carefully by Human Resources staff, departmental supervisors, and executive leadership, with the aim of finding betters ways to support staff and continually improve the work environment.  The most recent survey was completed in the summer of 2005, with staff from all departments participating.

One question in the survey was:
"What do you like most about your job and/or Trillium Family Services.

Here is a sampling of the 211 responses, verbatim from staff:

My co-workers share values of doing what we can to help kids and families.  The families and kids are fascinating!!  The challenge of trying to figure out a way to get through to the kids.
Autonomy, the work itself, the free lunches are a real plus, benefits, salary, other staff.
Importance of the work, interesting client population, I get a lot of freedom in how I carry out my role, and the majority of the time is spent doing activities that are fulfilling and interesting to me.
I enjoy the team(s) I work with.  The people I get to interact daily with is one of the things I look forward to every day when I come in.  I enjoy being able to provide help to others and do a little something to help them and their children become healthier and function better.
I've been here for over five years, and during this time I have had the privilege of fulfilling different roles within the agency.  I was allowed to grow as a professional and work with multiple competent people.
The mission.  There is an intrinsic value to being part of the Trillium family and knowing that every day we all make a difference in the lives of the children and families in our community.  I enjoy the room for advancement and upward mobility.
I like the interaction with my supervisor and the mentoring I'm receiving.
My co-workers are sincere, hard working, fun people to work with.
Medical and dental benefits are comprehensive.  Job recognition [is] frequent.
Working with the kids.  Although it's rough at times, that one time that you feel like you're actually making a difference in the child's life makes it all worth it.
I have enjoyed the chance to learn new styles of therapy and having a child and family focus.
The flexibility allowed in balancing my work and my family.
I enjoy the sense of pride I receive in providing quality care for our clients.  I also enjoy the sense of appreciation I receive from my supervisor and those above him for my efforts.
I know we are providing an essential service to families in need.  I appreciate the flexibility I have in my role, the respect I receive as an employee, and the autonomy to do my job as needed.
My supervisor has been a very positive influence in my professional life.  I appreciate that Trillium appears to value its employees and is willing to work with employees with difficulties, in any capacity, arise.  Trillium appear to truly care about the well-being of its employees and appear to want to see people being successful.  I also am very appreciative of the fact that Trillium pays for its employees insurance benefits and contributes to our retirement plans.
