About Us

Trillium Family Services is one of Oregon's largest nonprofit providers of mental health services to children and their families. Trillium was formed in 1998 when three historic agencies -- the Children's Farm Home in Corvallis and the Parry Center for Children and Waverly Children's Home in Portland -- merged to create an integrated care system with a statewide reach.

Today, Trillium provides a full array of treatment services at its four campuses in three regions -- Portland Metro, Mid-Willamette Valley and Central Oregon.

Trillium's vision is to partner with families and the community to help children heal and to teach children and families to manage their ongoing mental health care needs so children lead lives that fulfill their potential.

Our Programs Include

Through evidence-based practices, Trillium continues to provide cost-effective care that decreases the amount of time children spend in high-end services while also improving outcomes.

Whom We Serve

The children whom we serve come from all walks of life. Their families reflect Oregon. Many are what our stereotypes consider normal, everyday families. Some families are torn asunder for various reasons, which propels children into a crisis. Some children come from dysfunctional homes, where the children’s basic needs cannot be met and abuse may be present.

They suffer from illnesses such as severe depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention deficit disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and other conditions caused by genetics, biology, environmental conditions, and abuse. Despite the various illnesses and causes, the children have something in common. They no longer can function in their home and community settings. They are disruptive, sometimes uncontrollable, often a danger to themselves or others.

Smiling GirlThe families and other loved ones are exhausted by their efforts to help their children, and they come to Trillium Family Services wary because nothing before has seemed to help. They are at a loss, maybe on the verge of giving up, but they see hope in the services that Trillium offers.

These are the families and children that we see daily at Trillium Family Services, which is one of Oregon’s largest providers of mental health services for children. Through our comprehensive array of services and programs, we treat children ranging in age from 5 to 17 years old. Among our four campuses, we work with families and community support networks to heal children and return them to their home settings, where they can lead lives that fulfill their potential.

These children can be helped. If it’s a one-time mental health crisis, we work with children and families to treat their condition and create new environments that prevent reoccurrences.

For lifelong illnesses,  just as patients manage ongoing medical conditions such as diabetes or heart disease, many mental health conditions can be managed if caught early enough — and if we equip children and families with the right tools.
